“New York’s health care costs are among the nation’s highest. We appreciate Governor Hochul’s focus on protecting and expanding access to quality, affordable health coverage and remain committed to working with the Governor and her Administration to ensure access to coverage for New Yorkers affected by federal cuts.
“Prior authorization is a critical safeguard to ensure patients receive care that is safe, evidence-based and effective, and our industry has taken steps to streamline and simplify the process for patients and providers. We look forward to further details on the Governor’s proposal and that any changes result in reducing low-value and inappropriate services and don’t increase costs for employers and consumers.”
